How To Transfer An Inkjet Print Onto Wood
You're method works well for black and white applications. I tried it with a color design and it was a lot more blurry. Would you spray a fixative on the design before application?
would of been 1000x easier to just buy some Inkjet Water Slide paper from ebay and its 1000x easier and cheaper and no need to use all these stuff. just print it and transfer it on.. cost me like £3 for 10 sheets
So this will work if you wanted to put it on an acoustic guitar
I can't get the glue to stay on the lacquered paper! it bubbles off. I've tried using more and less of both matte and Elmers and almost ruined my printer.
I am a bit skeptical about putting paper with glue on it into my printer. Anyone experience problems with the printer after doing that?
Does this work on painted wood also?
I just saw a vid doing the same thing with OUT the extra products. This person used the same type backing. Then just printed on it and put it on the wood. Don't forget; do Not move it or it will smear, it dries almost instantly, and don't forget to cover it with a coating of something. It was that simple.
I make name plates for the kids bedroom doors with pictures just using the backing paper no addons works fine sand the wood first and its got to be bare wood which dries instanly
The only downside to this method, is the high gloss effect on the entire area of the cut out. Because of this method used, the glue will actually repel staining.
I noticed that the id very specifically mentioned matte krylon spray. Will gloss work as well? Same for the liquitex gel?
what should be the characteristics of the wood for a better result?
have you tried this with waxed paper?
is there some kind of paper or plastic I can use without discarding it after the first apply? something I can peharps wash or something and then use it again?
What if I want to print it on an already painted guitar?
Here's a cool method that gets equally good results, and is even easier using a laser printer if that's what you have. He uses a wood burning tool to heat the back of the paper for the transfer, but I believe you could use a regular clothes iron instead, with no steam of course, and set to a high temperature:

the best! thanks for no talking!
Exact same process as the one from canon printers
Can you use podge instead of glue?
